STATEMENTS OF FAITH:
We believe in one God: the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, as He has revealed Himself in the Scriptures. “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One” Deuteronomy 6:4. (We believe the intended meaning of the word “one” as found in Hebrew (echad) means a composite unity). God has revealed Himself to man in many forms, including Yeshua (Jesus) and the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit).
We believe that Yeshua is the longed for Messiah. We believe that this Divine Messiah is sinless, without spot or blemish, having offered Himself as atonement for the sins of mankind. Those who sincerely repent of their sins and confess their belief and trust in God can be, and are, forgiven on the basis of God’s mercy and grace through Yeshua’s death, thereby receiving eternal salvation. Such a person is granted the indwelling of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) and is regenerated, a process whereby Torah is written on the heart (Jeremiah 31:31-33; John 1:1-14; Colossians 2:9).
We believe that the Spirit of God comforts, teaches, leads, indwells and empowers all whom it regenerates.
We believe the nature of the Scriptures, the Tanakh (Old Testament) and the Brit Hadashah (New Testament) to be authoritative, inspired, 100% accurate (in the original languages) and living and applicable in our lives today. We will not uphold man-made traditions as scripture, be it Jewish or otherwise. We are free to participate in traditions when they do not contradict with the Written Word. We will search the Scripture for our traditions and observances. We accept that some of the extra biblical writings (Talmud, Mishnah, Midrash, etc.) have many teachings that are useful in the understanding of God’s Word, but are not to be considered Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
We believe in the physical resurrection of Yeshua, and the future resurrection of all people to eternal life or eternal death. We believe in the literal, physical return of Messiah to rule and reign upon the throne of David in Jesuralem. We hold to the pre-millennial view of His return (Zechariah 14; Revelation 19-20).
We believe that as Jews and Gentiles (children of Israel) together in Messiah we follow the Torah (codified by Moses) and as taught and lived out by Yeshua. We believe that Yeshua gave definitive understanding of both Torah teachings and a Torah-based lifestyle. Consequently we observe, submit to, and rejoice in all of the commandments (mitzvot) of God, including Shabbat, and the Biblical Holy Days (Moedim) as presented in the Torah and the teachings of the Messiah and His talmidim (disciples).
We believe that salvation is by faith through the grace of God alone, and not by human efforts. One may not earn, merit or keep this eternal salvation by own efforts. A new creation is the work of God alone (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 8:29-39). We believe that though we can’t earn God’s grace, obedience to His instruction (Torah) is our reasonable, logical response to that saving grace.
We believe in the spiritual unity and equality of all who believe in Messiah Yeshua. We believe that all non-Jewish people who trust in Yeshua and follow His teachings are grafted into Israel. They are granted the privilege of following the Torah, and celebrating full membership into the community of Israel as a whole (Romans 11:11-24; Jeremiah 31:33).
